Those restrictor valves are a real pain to get out without tearing them up. I usually carry a (small) pair of vice grips and an old water massage shower head - then just swap them out. Usually only do this if I'll be staying for more than a couple of days.

One of these days I'll try and figure out how to visit Canada's version of Home Depot and how to bring a non-water-saving toilet back with me!
