Gap and Old Navy are the same company as Banana Republic, so might be worth checking those stores as well, also the outlets.
The attachment at the top where they have the "Chip Card Ready" sign looks a lot like an NFC reader, but last time I tried at a BR outlet that had them (plain black with nothing on them) they didn't work. They're not advertising it, but I wonder if the upgrade to enable the chip slots might have enabled NFC as well?
