A Delta Airlines Boeing 767-300, registration N177DZ performing flight DL-271 from Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) to Newark,NJ (USA), was enroute at FL360 about 180nm eastnortheast of Goose Bay,NL (Canada) when the crew declared emergency reporting they were down to one generator, two generators were inoperative. The aircraft diverted to Goose Bay for a safe landing about 30 minutes later.
A replacement Boeing 767-300 registration N169DZ was dispatched to Goose Bay and reached Newark with a delay of 10 hours.
Nav Canada reported the crew advised they were down to one generator, one emergency generator was still available, two generators were inoperative. One generator had been unservicable before departure already, another generator failed in flight.
