I'm not exactly sure why 2015 qualifications made it impossible for you to get UA Gold?

The requirement now is 50,000 miles on United and Partners, but the PQD of $6,000 annually can only be on United. I spend most of my $s on the international routes on Singapore so, I cant qualify based on this new PQD requirement.
