Sorry; I didn't intend to alarm needlessly.

I don't have any reason to believe four segments is a requirement (if there was such, it would certainly be mentioned in the Miillion Miler wiki), but I don't want to give the new boss the possibility. I believe changes are coming, have for some time, and now the doors are squeaking, bloggers blogging and I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

The April 8, 2014 "benefits massacre" was largely unannounced. I'd not be completely amazed to hear "lifetime" will be conditional, and there's no law to prevent it.

All I know is aa.com states:

*Must fly at least four segments on American or US Airways during the qualifying year to receive elite status.
and that I don't trust some sycophant won't come up with a "brilliant" idea of how to diminish the rolls of lifetime members.

Just my skepticism, cynicism and personal opinion. And those have grown, not diminished, during the merger. I've flown AA over six decades, ad just now I'm seeing terrible morale, lack of leadership and focus on having a premium airline. It's just me.
