When this happens, a divider is put in place to distinguish EC passengers from Saga passengers; so you get EC service, but in a Saga class seat, which is very nice.
Not a guaranteed thing, but if Icelandair needs your EC seat, it can happen. On my last 4 flights, the last 2-3 rows of Saga class seating were designated EC rows.
