Your problem is not the outbound, plenty of seats in the lower fares bucket. The return is pretty much zero'd out.

Unfortunately, I think you're stuck with your ticket. DOT has not jurisdiction over VN. Have you checked Japan Airlines for code shares? China Airlines is $302 with a short stop in TPE. I would also check Business Class, if it's not much higher, may be your friend can justify it. You could also upgrade your ticket to Business Class using Optiontown a few days before departure.
Hi imm2b. You may be right, I might be stuck with the ticket. I'm *hoping* that either I can get out of it or another sale will come along.

I wasn't trying to trick the system, however, as my friend and I were paying with separate credit cards. That's a mistake I won't make again. I didn't do a dummy booking to see if 2 seats were available for the same booking at the same price. Lesson learned.

Can you tell me where you pulled those numbers with available seats in each booking class from? That info would have REALLY helped and prevented me from this situation.

And actually, we were planning on flying the China Airlines flights that you mentioned for $302, but when we found an opportunity to fly non-stop instead of a layover in TPE, we went for it.

Thanks for your research and help!!
