Thank you for your offer. We have 2 trips planned. One this September (just next month) and one next May.

I have expenses in line for air and lodgings. What I need help now is to decide when to rent a car and when to take train. We will be getting breakfast most days at our lodgings. How much should I allow per day per person for food. Rachel Ray used to have a travel show "$40 a day". Then there's tipping.

My 2 routes are:

Sept.-- MXP, Milan (1), Barga (5), Parma (1), Volto Manovanna (2), Vicenza, Susegana (2), VCE (1)

May--VCE, Venice (3), Vicenza (2), Varenna (3), Barga (5), by way of Genoa Milan (1), MXP
