BA.com Official, sinus, could you please explain how to book a couple of AA/US domestic flights over the phone (plenty seats available for avios redemptions)? I called local BA OB service centre and they've just confirmed that 'it's weird, but there is no availability for any route any date'.
My understanding is that as a contact centre agent when we search by carrier instead of entering AA now we enter *O in pegasus (the amadeus based reservation system).
For some reason searching for AA availability specifically is the problem but using *O searches for oneworld carrier availability on the route then it works.
So if you ask the agent to enter *O for carrier when searching availability it should do the trick. It was actually in an email to agents so they should be up to date and aware of this problem and the workaround.
