I've actually always stayed at the HIX Downtown - it's better than the vast majority of HIXs, has a very decent corporate rate for me, and the staff there always work hard to find a room on a high floor which gives great views of the city in the morning. The service standard generally is certainly more CP level than HIX.

Breakfast has become a little more crowded in recent years, which suggests the hotel is becoming generally a bit busier, so I do wonder how long the current rates will continue to hold as a result - but currently I think it's the best value in Toronto.
