I checked into the Westin Times Square last night to find they've oversold my room type and have downgraded me. The FD agent said it was standard practice by revenue management and that they had to downgrade platinum guests regularly. This seems to be somewhat at odds with the concept of a "guaranteed" room type. I opened a file with CCS but I ask the group--what would you do?
I would ask for a rate adjustment or some additional starpoints for the inconvenience.
