I am a huge Hay Adams fan. It's where I stay when I go to DC. It has a very American feel without being cutesy and folksy. Understatedly elegant. It's small, and has a level of detail that large chain hotels tend to miss. The location can't be beat. The service is as close to perfect as US hotels get -- very individualized. From romantic getaways with my husband to a girls' weekend with old friends, this is the place I choose.
