MKE to SFO w/ Southwest (paying cash).
SFO to HKG w/ Singapore ( First class using Krisflyer miles transferred form Chase UR).
HKG w/ Dragon Air (Business class using BA miles)
My mother holds taiwan citizenship so she is in the America w/ traveling visa. I understand she will have to take her luggage and re check in at SFO. My question is does she have to go through customs at HKG or just security check. Also will Singapore Airline work w/ Dragon Air to transfer the baggage.
Thanks again if any can share some insight or experience!
1) you are most likely posting in the wrong forum. Although I **think** you should be able to "interline" (as the term is known) SQ to KA, I haven't tried this with the SFO SQ staff and it is best asked to that forum. .
2) by mixed answers, do you mean you have people say you a) can and b) can't? Id be pretty surprised if there isn't a clear answer to your question. I'm not sure I understand your meaning.
3) if you can "interline" the luggage, the answer to one of your correlated questions (does your mom need to clear customs at HKG) is "no". An onward boarding pass is all that will be needed to get her through transit security. If she doesnt have her KA boarding pass in advance, she can collect it at the transit desk in HKG.
