Chase Sapphire Preferred--called; no retention offer available. Have had the card for 2 years; annual fee posted 8/1/15. Was told I have until 9/30/15 (60 days) to cancel the card and have the fee refunded, but if I want to earn more points that I wish to transfer to a partner, the points have to post by 9/17 (the closing date of the next statement).

Have spent about $20K on the card in past year, but a huge chunk of it was for a non-recurring home improvement. Don't know whether this card is worth it; have a couple of weeks to decide. I plan on transferring whatever balance I can in any event to Hyatt.

I also have the Hyatt card, so with the free night provided on renewal, it may be a better option. Also have decided to cancel Starwood AMEX because the fee is just too high; DH has Citi Preferred which we plan to use for travel charges (3x points).
