I'm with Punki. I used to think paper tickets were the only way to travel, a sense of security, I guess. I had it in writing in front of me. Well, for the past 18 months or so, I have been travelling with E-Tickets, and guess what, when you check in you can ask for a printout of your itenerary along with a receipt. Even when travelling on multiple airlines, each airline can do the above, if you ask.
I also think that Rudi is right on with his opinion. I don't do much international travel and have not since the advent of E-Tickets. I think in some places one must provide some type of document indicating length of stay and departure date.
