I'm going to log in on the other side. I LOVE E-tickets. As soon as the reservation is made, I pencil in the confimation code, airline and times into my little purse calendar and that is it. (I use this same entry to confirm that all mileage has been assigned to my accounts.) On those occasions when I must use a paper ticket, i.e. I am flying internationally on awards or using a Silver Wings ticket, I find it a real pain to get the ticket, keep track of them etc.

My assistant keeps the paper copy of the E-ticket receipts in a file and I go through them from time to time and throw away the paperwork on the trips I actually took, and then file the unused ones in an "Unused" section for reissuance.

For trips I take frequently i.e. SEA/PDX, I actually try to keep a few unused back halves of E-tickets available for emergency trips. Saves a ton of money as the fare is fixed upon using the first half and there is no expense required to change the date of the back half.
