Does anyone know what is going on with BA flights between Vancouver and London today?

I am booked in the Business Class on BA086 at 17:55 but was notified early this morning my flight cancelled (well delayed 24hr). The BA084 at 20:50 is operating as normal but is full.

I check BA.com - TWO flights left London today. And both more or less on time. BA.com says my plane that should have taken me to UK today is landing in Vancouver on time but it will sit here 24hrs before flying back.

What could have caused this oddity? It cannot be a mechanical issue as BA notified me my flight would not operate today before the aircraft even left UK. And like I say, both aircraft are en route.

Any ideas what may have happen? I ask ba - they just said 'operational issue'.
