+1 I am just like you and signed-up in every category, but in even worse shape since I never receive any emails from them ever. No flight cancellations, no upgrade emails, NADA.
This has made me a very compulsive flight checker, and, not even a month ago, I woke up at 3 AM in an airport hotel feeling that something was wrong, and logged on to my account to find that the connector flight to my international flight the next morning was missing a crew! UA had not rebooked me on anything yet, so I got on the phone and had them route me through another hub to NRT. It was a good thing that I woke up because the new flight had a 6 AM departure instead of the 10 AM flight that I was originally booked on.
