BA pricing to DME - what gives?

Recently flew to DME... Outbound 747 was less than half full and on the way back my flt was cancelled altogether and 2 flights were jammed into 777. So here I was wondering why load factors are so poor especially considering that EZY flights have very decent loads...

Today I was trying to book 2 flights to DME - one in Sep and one in Oct. In both cases restricted economy is £1,200. So here I'm trying to understand.... BA is shuttling 3 half (at best?) empty flights a day while keeping prices at a level no one in their right mind can/should afford.

Does anyone have any logical explanation of BA's pricing strategy to Russia?

PS. I guess, I will be flying with EZY at £120/return... Or maybe AFL or TSO at £200...
PPS. I checked - there are seems to be loads of unsold BA seats on days I want to fly...
