I don't think it's particularly expensive (although I generally pay £23 for a round trip on the Heathrow Express). It's more a matter of convenience - a direct journey to a station a 5 minute walk from the hotel is pretty convincing... The cheapness, well, that's just a nice fringe benefit. I am Scottish, you know...
