Been trying for several days now to secure business class (Upper Class or Affaires) on KLM, Virgin Atlantic or Air France...

Delta dot com shows KLM and Air France availability but when I go to purchase, the system returns a "We're sorry. The fare for the flights you selected just sold out. Please search again to view and select alternate flights. #100503R"

I call Delta, they say those flights are all zero in availability.

How do I determine what is phantom seats and those that are real?

Thanks!!!
For VS, sign up for an account with them and use their search engine to find their long haul segment availability. DL will have access to these seats, assuming you can work around the married segment logic for domestic connections.

For AF, assume pretty much they don't release anything to DL. Use Alaska's search tool to verify. On a recent search, I found one AF Business Class seat from their NE US destinations to CDG over about a 5 month period! I am not as certain with KL, but I suspect it follows a similar pattern.
