Got me thinking, since its technically order anything you want at any time, has anyone ever tried to order every item on the menu? Could be at once or spaced over the course of the flight (not to waste, but to honestly try everything and get your money's worth)
There seem to be 3 others with me in F on the first flight but I'm all alone on my second, both on an A380. Surely they just trash the food if no one eats it. Do the FAs or the Pilots get to nosh on whats left?
Yes, the food is trashed - EK try and cater to the loads, but we're not talking US airlines or BA catering here, so in most cases if you want to try one of everything that shouldn't be a problem. People do order one of everything fairly regularly, so the crew should not be unfazed.
Crew have separate meals, but of course, sometimes the F snacks do go missing towards the end of the flight (e.g. scones on the UK sectors). Rest assured you won't get a situation where the crew have eaten some F food and then when it comes for you to order it, it's "run out"! Pilots of course must have separate meals to other crew members (and each other) to minimise the risk of food poisoning.
