Checked the ESTA website, and it confirms I have a valid ESTA.

So...

1) Am I at risk of not being allowed to travel?
2) Am I likely to be bumped, or lose my reserved seat?
3) What do I need to do here?

Planning on travelling hand luggage only, arriving at LHR with adequate (and only adequate) time to clear security.

BA will be relying on the data feed from the CBP saying you don't have an ESTA.

1. Yes unless it is resolved this is a risk - unless BA are sure you have a valid ESTA you won't be getting on the plane (this is same for all airlines). As others have said take a print out to the airport with you. But I'd also check now if that when entering your APIS data you didn't make any errors.

2. I'd say no greater chance than anyone else of being bumped.

3. See 1 re print out. Also get to the airport earlier to give BA time to sort this issue out.
