Thanks to the advice in this forum did my first ex-EU last year AMS-HKG as I live very near to SEN (walking distance) it was as cheap to get to LHR via AMS with easyjet as it was to use HEX. Picked up on the Ex-Dub earlier this year for a trip to Washington when you could get to Dub from SEN, a week before the flights stopped so did an Lcy trip overnighting in the Premier Inn as mentioned by CWS for Eur39 ! Overall saved £1500. Now I'm hooked doing another later this year LCY DUB LHR JFK BOS LHR DUB LCY with the LCY legs on Avios saving over 1500 for the cost of 1 night at LHR (as on late flight from Dub) and a few hours in the CCR on the way back as BOS LHR in F. For the sake of a day on the hols - the money saved and extra TP make it worthwhile - although the look when you tell people are sometimes a bit strange
