You'd have to check with Amex, from the info here
http://www.americanexpress.com/us/co...nce-terms.html it looks like your card will cover loss and damage (CDW/LDW) in Mexico. Interestingly, Amex cards issued in Mexico don't cover car rentals in Mexico.
