I've just returned from an Ex DUB trip to HNL.

I took a slightly riskier approach and went for a long connection in DUB on the way out.

Once in DUB I took the 747 bus straight to Heuston station did the Guinness tour, walked back into to town through Christchurch, the Castle, St Stephens Green, and ended up in a pub in Temple Bar. Then bus back to the airport.

A very enjoyable and relaxing day to start the trip, and I saved around £1,800.

If you flying from the regions I don't think going via DUB or other Ex Eu is that much extra hassle and the savings make it very worthwhile.
