good day,

you must have misread something. i often book at travelocity and i just tried booking a hertz full size car for the dates july 13 to july 16 (sat to tue). i got a rate of 34.99, but when i clicked to book the reservation, i got a page with the following message: "Estimated Weekend Daily rate above applies to Saturdays, Sundays, and often Mondays. Extra day rate USD 61.23 per additional day."

so right away it tells me to look out for a change from weekend to weekday rate.

incidentally, if you call travelocity, the agent there can give you the approximate cost [the approximate cost is the sum of the daily rates plus various taxes, but not including any insurance costs obviously]. i agree that travelocity should include this in their email messages; did you send an email message to travelocity suggesting that?
