United is not forcing Asiana out of the Philippines. United hates its partners who aren't JV so sends connecting traffic to competitors like PAL, but Asiana is capable of feeding its Philippine flights from its own US flights.
But getting to the USA hubs that Asiana Air fly out of could be harder to get to. We used to fly out of Memphis to Chicago using United to make our connection with Asiana Air, now they are changing their flights so connections time is greatly increase and the costs are going up too... yet if we fly United to Japan and PAL to Cebu, the connections are great and the price is lower...the big difference is instead of buying tickets thru Asiana Air U now buy tickets thru United ... thus my opinion that both Delta and United are forcing out KAL and Asiana out of the market...which I hope not...
