When an e-ticket is issued, is the fee paid to the airline directly at that moment? In other words: Can one assume an itinerary is 'safe' when an e-ticket has been issued?
Personally I have quite a few (ticketed) itineraries to/from ATH in the coming months, most of which are ticketed through Greek TA's. Why? Because I have good experiences with them and I'd like to support them with my business. All of them have been paid by credit card so I would be covered in any case, though it would be a pain to find out that tickets are not honored because the TA is not able to get the money out to the (international) airline.
When an eticket is issued with form of payment cash/check, then the agent immediately incurs a liability to the airline for the amount of the ticket that will be settled through BSP.
