Fiji's always been on my radar, has been very informative reading through this post.

Question on Royal Davui - just for fun I was punching in a dummy booking in October for 5 nights. The price on the hotel's website is showing about $2k/night, vs. about $600/night on hotels.com. I've never seen such a big disparity between booking direct vs. through an OTA.

If the $600 rates is indeed real, seems like a great value compared to the $5k/night at Laucala.
