MCO-SAN is indeed a fairly easy upgrade. I flew ATL-MCO on DL to get the MCO-SAN on an MVPG recently... it won't apply to the OP, but anyone connecting from DL to AS in MCO does have a multi-train hike involved, but no worse than going from N to S at SEA other than having to re-clear TSA (PRE helps A LOT).
