Was TP24 the TA though in this case? There are plenty more Greek TA's that sell their services through various sites like SkyScanner, Momondo, and so on.
When an e-ticket is issued, is the fee paid to the airline directly at that moment? In other words: Can one assume an itinerary is 'safe' when an e-ticket has been issued?
Personally I have quite a few (ticketed) itineraries to/from ATH in the coming months, most of which are ticketed through Greek TA's. Why? Because I have good experiences with them and I'd like to support them with my business. All of them have been paid by credit card so I would be covered in any case, though it would be a pain to find out that tickets are not honored because the TA is not able to get the money out to the (international) airline.
