You go straight through transit after landing at TPE. FYI you can get all your boarding passes at HKG with your bag checked just for the HKG-LHR-EDI leg. So all you are doing is just a quick TPE turnaround. Almost all the ground staff (at least at F section) are aware of such turnaround as many DMs are doing it day in day out.

At HKG check in, just give them both booking details and they'll sort you out
