The final flight is London to Entebbe (Uganda) on BA. This leg is currently booked for August, but I want to push it back to December.
I've just read that BA will be permanently cancelling their LHR-EBB route from September.
In other words, the flight I am currently booked to fly on will operate. By the time I do want to fly, this route will no longer be operational.
Before I talk to anyone about this, what are my options?
To complicate things, my infant son is currently booked as a lap infant. If I were to take any flight after August, he will be >2 years old and can no longer travel as a lap infant. xONEx rules are that if the child turns 2 during the trip, you are supposed to buy them a seat for the whole trip.
If you change the date for LHR-EBB to the date you want to travel but before BA cancels the route then you may be able to be rerouted on another airline for free.
If BA has already cancelled the route (for the date you want to fly) then you will need to reroute via DOH or fly to a different destination. Subject to meeting all the fare rules of course, and being subject to reticketing costs.
As for your son, it depends if they pick up the issue - you may be up for a very expensive reticketing.
