BA1460 arrived at 2325 last night, but luggage didn't appear until 0010 - given how quiet EDI is at this time, I'm sure there must have been some complication they didn't tell us about (there were no announcements).

Anyway, as midnight approached I wondered.... "what if I just went home?". After all, I'd returned from a short leisure trip, and my suitcase only contained a few tshirts, shorts, socks and a wash bag rather than anything of value.

Would the bag have been available for me to collect from the airport the next day? Would it be destroyed / sold on eBay / treated as suspicious / stolen / circulating on the carousel forever?

Out of curiosity - what happens if you abandon your luggage?
