For those of you planning to check it out, note that they're open Mon-Fri only. They're in one of the corridors on the lower level of Rock Center than leads to the subway (B, D, F and M trains). Note that in addition to the best shine in town, their shoe repair services are excellent as well. I have a shoe repair (and shine) place right in the lobby of my office near Grand Central, but still I go to Eddie's when I need something done.
By the way, I hope people appreciate the tongue-in-cheekiness of my original post. $3 is crazy cheap for what is by far the best shoe shine in town. They work a good 10-15 minutes on each customer, so be prepared to wait in line, and be prepared to spend some time in the chair once it's your turn. And I think it's criminal to tip any less than $3 given how much work they put into each pair of shoes.
