I have stayed in a least one SHS with free chocolate chip cookies at night. They also had a manager's welcome food selection and wine selection during the week. (basically apps, house wine, some fruit) That being said I am typing this from a Courtyard room right now and I agree with OP but this was the cheapest Marriott property by a fair amount when I booked so....
