It has NOTHING to do with guarantee - the guarantee card is attached to your reservation already.
Just think about it, I have NEVER saved any card on HHonors site. However I have made many reservations - using your logic, none of those reservations could be guaranteed, because no CC is ever saved on HHonors site. But we all know it is NOT the case!
Also, the HHonor customer support rep can and indeed delete the card. This should have already signal to you, card saved on site has NOTHING to do with card used to guarantee a reservation.
Matter of fact, currently there is No Card saved. There are a doz reservations guaranteed with the deleted card. Hence the logic of your assumption is a wrong one.
In my first post I mentioned about is there any other ways to delete the saved card, other than replacing it with a canceled card or a soon to be canceled card.
That means, I am able to delete the card being used for guarantee, which was accidentally saved by HHonors site - by adding a soon to be canceled card which then allowed me to move the "dot" of Preferred, from Card 1 to Card 2 which is NOT used for any reservation. Card 1 now is successfully DELETED despite it has been used to guarantee the doz reservations.
I just wanted to know, without doing the above maneuver, is there any other ways to delete a saved card. Hence the purpose of this thread. The answer is No, cannot do it on HHonors site. Must contact HHonors and request them to do it for you.
The reason why you could not delete a SINGLE card is 100% due to HHonors STUPID IT DESIGN - because the preferred round dot cannot be unchecked, unless there are more than one card saved. Then you can move the preferred dot from card to card. Once a card is not "dotted" as preferred, it can be deleted, even this card has been used for guarantee 10 reservations!
No other sites I have seen would behave like HHonors - while sites like Amazon or WalMart would automatically save your card info, you can easily remove them manually, even you have an open, unshipped order (i.e. not billed yet). Only HHonors site has such stupid design that makes you either to "trick" it or contact the HHonors support to do it - either way is a burden and time waster to the customer.
