It did NOT work. I checked the box delete but the "preferred" box remained with the filled dot and the saved info did not drop off.
I did a search in this forum last night, got an error coming back. I then did a google search, even found someone had same issue posted in MilePoint website. Whatever tricks employed, it did NOT work last night. I actually tried to put in wrong card number/ wrong expiration date. However, the site just popped up a box telling me it cannot be saved because invalid information something like that.
Eventually I put in a soon to be canceled card and set it to be preferred, then I could delete the one that the site initially saved. Hence my initial question - short of using a soon to be canceled card, is there any other ways to removed the saved info...
The solution from the poster in MilePoint site was to email HHonors support. I did exactly that last night. Got a quick response to ask confirmation of the last 4. The customer support rep deleted from his side, said it would take 24 hours for system to update.
It is not 24 hours yet but the card info is gone.
Congrats getting the card deleted. I was reading a thread where a hotel put through a charge on a card several years old and the CC did a "courtesy" move to the current card number (which some CC agreements do have). OP didn't want that card used and had given the proper card at check in/out. So best not to leave old data out there.
