Thai Airways International (THAI) has hired the former chief executive officer of Oman Air to give advice on how to improve the airline's marketing strategy.
Wayne Pearce will take the position of commerce and marketing adviser, THAI board chairman Areepong Bhoocha-oom says.
Mr Pearce, an Australian, left Oman Air in February, 2014. He was credited with raising passenger levels and increasing the airline's on-time performance.
The board has also agreed to extend the application date for the positions of executive vice-president for commerce and executive vice-president for the aviation business unit, he said after its meeting on Monday.

Mr Pearce will also be responsible for laying out the marketing strategy as well as conducting staff training, Mr Areepong said.
The adviser will devise special promotions and work to boost the effectiveness of the THAI call centre, he added......


Mr. Wayne Pearce served as an Executive Vice President of Strategy and Planning at Etihad Airways.
Mr. Pearce served as the Chief Executive Officer of Oman Air (S.O.A.C) from January 03, 2012 to February 28, 2014
