I do US - UK flights multiple times per month. You have to be disciplined on the shorter east coast ones (if doing a red eye). Get on the plane, put on your eye mask, plug your ears and get to sleep. You can get off the plane refreshed, even flying in economy.
Not if the flight is full and you have people sitting next to you....can be very uncomfortable with no real space....done that many times
