Tonight BOTH flights to SYD were late. 839 out of LAX had to wait for a plane to be flown in from SFO. 863 out of SFO was over an hour late, with no explanation. I guess an hour late is simply to be considered SOP for UA?
Can't comment on the one having to ferry but it's also not uncommon for the flights to simply be delayed in the event they would end up arriving at SYD before the morning landing restriction.
