The cash may have gone into an error / suspense account that would need manual intervention though equally it might have been rejected and sent back to BA - who would then need to check their errors / suspense / returned funds account.

If you did phone BA they could check to see if it has been rejected and then resend it - with the correct information.

Whatever happens they won't try again until they know they have the first lot of cash back.
My bank gave me the right routing number to use.(which is only used exclusively for all incoming wire transfers) I called BA's US 800-number but was routed to an agent in the UK. She said the claim was approved but the money had not been wired just yet. She edited the routing number for me.

Come to think of it, does BA *only* process such claims vial direct deposit into bank accounts? Do they ever send out physical checks? The online baggage claim form does not allow one to submit a claim unless bank account number is entered in those three boxes....
