Go shopping (many stores will be open on Thanksgiving although not the grand department stores), tour the Empire State Building, take a ferry and tour the Statue of Liberty, ice skate at Rockefeller Center, walk in Central Park, take a carriage ride, go out for Thanksgiving dinner, etc.

As you can see, there are plenty of things to do.
