KC runs a 757 on the ALA-TSE-LHR route, whilst the current BA schedule was very comfortable, unlike LH or KL.

I for one will be disappointed BA dropped/suspended ALA, specifically with the recent expansion of the visa waiver program to 20 countries (from 10 last year) until 2017. Travelling around the Stans is a pain due to visas, some of which take a month to get requiring numerous pieces of paper, at least travelling to Kazakhstan is relatively painless in this respect and Almaty has a lot to offer in terms of attractions.
On the BA Trade site, it states the routes are being suspended because they are no longer commercially viable.
