The water taxi (or ferry) is easy and inexpensive---$5.00. Select the ferry to West 38th Street. When you arrive, hop on the 50th Street NY Waterways bus and get off at 6th Avenue. The bus ride is included in the price. There are two Jersey City locations---Colgate or Newport. For more info, here is their website: http://nywaterway.com/commuter.html
