I recently completed a couple of stays (checked out from one today) and was upgraded to a Waldorf Suite from a deluxe king on each occasion.

The restaurant is in a state of flux. One of the Chicago wunderkind chefs, Brandon Sodikoff and his company, was hired to reconcept the restaurant but it didn't work out after a year and his contract was terminated. I invariably eat meals out here.

I'm not sure where you phone got to but I've stayed in those suites and had a phone by the bed.

I still enjoy staying here for the spa, most of the hard product, the staff, and the location and at a price point usually below the Langham and Pen.
I booked an Astoria suite, and this is what I was assigned. It is a full suite, with the bedroom separate from the living room. About 900 sq feet in total.

If you look at the photo of the bed, you can see there is no phone, no lamp on the left side and no reading lights. I don't recall a hotel missing any of these in some time....let alone all three!
