It's not unreasonable to expect a functional AVOD system on a brand new aircraft. And a very sad comment that Avianca absolutely blows UA out of the water on this score.
You are not alone! United has 130+ 739's and ~70 of those have no IFE with the exception of wifi. It's one thing for an airline to operate a fleet of regional jets without IFE, but the 739 fleet is being utilized on 5-6 hour flights on a daily basis (including HI flights). "Personal Device Entertainment Coming Soon"...yeah....sure.

Take the "Private Screening" billboards and ads down before you actually install the system on the "pride" of your domestic fleet.

What a joke.
