My idea for how I'd love to use it is as follows:
- Book a standard Fairmont room for 4 nights through Citi portal (using Citi Prestige card). For easy math, say it's $250/nt.
- Use the Fairmont 3rd night free certificate. So at checkout my bill will be $750
- Citi Prestige gives the 4th night free. So I'll get a $250 statement credit on my Citi card
= Net cost 2 nights, stay for 4 nights.
+ Use one room/suite certificate for the whole stay, meaning I can get a lot of value out of it.

Has anyone ever tried that combination before?
