Also I believe the $17 you save by going to the airport is per segment. So if you want to go to ORD -FLL with a layover in Atlanta, the first flight to Atlanta would be discounted $17 and then the flight from Atlanta to FLL would be discounted another $17.
I have had tons of flights that cost -9 cents before tax.
Before airport taxes went up, I used to fly LAS-LAX for $13.01 all the time. Now, It is $17.10 on this promotion as well as their normal sales when purchased at LAS.
Please remember that you do not have to wait on the long nasty line at NK to buy tickets. They usually have a separate line for full service which is sometimes combined with a pseudo-priority credit card holder line.
